IS GOD A TURKISH?
Warlamis was connected by a cordial friendship with the president of the Hellenic American Union, Mr. Chris Spyrou. They were connected by a pure patriotism.
Mr. Spyrou had spoken to Warlamis about his desire to see HAIA SOFIA functioning again as an Orthodox church. Warlamis was one of the artists who reacted to the genuine desires of people. This was the reason for him to write his fascinating story: IS GOD A TURKISH?
The book is a fine example of what art can do. The story is that a group of young people set a goal and finally manage to operate Hagia Sophia as an Orthodox Christian temple, and even with the help of the Turkish state!
It is a fascinating story through which Warlamis again finds the opportunity to formulate his entire philosophy. Particularly important are his positions on issues such as iconography, cinema, Christian architecture and Orthodox ritual.
The book presentations in Veria, Athens and Thessaloniki were a great success and aroused public interest.
The book was published by “PARATIRITIS” publications in 2000 and a second edition was published. It was then published in Austria in German (publishing house “Molden”) and a special presentation was held in the Austrian Parliament.
