GREEK LANDSCAPES (2007)
Warlamis felt the energy and the source forces of the Greek lands and managed to express it, starting from his favorite mystical place of Santorini, in a large series of paintings. He had travelled from Thrace and Epirus to Crete and the Dodecanese and the experiential images that he collected and kept deep within himself, he gathered them in a large collection entitled “HELLENIC PLACES”.
They were first presented at the ORIOL Gallery in Munich, Germany (2006) and then in 2007 in Athens at the ASTERAS Hotel in Vouliagmeni in collaboration with the TITANIUM Gallery. The works were also presented at major hotels in Halkidiki and Thassos.

he himself writes...
For a Greek to paint landscapes of his homeland is not an easy process. Many factors make it difficult to capture, because in essence our places are written deep within us and this emotional relationship makes it difficult to project in a picture. And then with what method? Impressionist, realistic, postmodern? … I had been thinking about my landscapes for many years. Now in my mature years they appeared before me like landmarks, like halos of a life on earth. I wanted to make them shine, at least once, one night like fireflies, like meteors.
