Warlamis always wrote and transformed his personal experiences as well as the values \u200b\u200bthat inspired him into short stories. In 2010, we collected several of them in a volume entitled \u201cREBECOME A GREEK\u201d published by IANOS Publications.<\/p>

These are twenty short, simple stories that hide within them timeless values \u200b\u200band characteristics of Greek culture. It is no coincidence that Warlamis chose this period to publish. A difficult period for our homeland, not only for the economic crisis, but mainly for the crisis of values \u200b\u200bthat our society is going through.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These twenty short stories remind us of the timeless identity of Hellenism. Values \u200b\u200bsuch as faith, friendship, solidarity, frugality, are not romantic elements of a bygone era, but the reserves of our culture that can get us out of this complex crisis, both on a personal and a state level.<\/p>

The stories were also translated into German and published under the title \u201cMein geliebtes Griechenland\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

From the stories in the book, the symbolic \"temple of St. Anthony the Younger\", \"Woman in Red\", what a stimulating beauty! Descriptive or expressionistic prose written with pain. I also read \"Kazoura\", \"Bullshit\", \"President\", \"Secret Place\" and I could not help but laugh, which we so need, even if it makes us reflect, because it is philosophically founded and can lead us to tears. With a polysemous poetic language and intense lyricism, it highlights the magic of nature and art, tradition and Greekness, which mobilize all the secret powers of the soul. However, its diffuse lyricism is intertwined with a critical realism, as revealed in the character and relationships of its heroes. At the same time, a tendency towards idyllic ethnography creeps in, as it highlights the vitality and dynamism of the popular soul and life in small provincial and island areas.
