A NIGHT IN SANTORINI

It was published in 1983 by “TRITOS CHOROS” publications and we would characterize it as a historical and social novel. Of course, as we said in his painting with many styles, many of Warlamis’ literary works do not fit into a single genre.

“A Night in Santorini” deals with the relationship between a man and a woman in Santorini, an island that still holds vivid memories of matriarchal peace. It is a love affair, which, however, becomes an occasion for the author to unfold the history of Greece from prehistory to today’s reality.

Each sentence is a chapter, we could say. In many places the writing becomes surrealistic, which cannot be understood with logic alone. There is a dynamic plot and a climax at the end of the work.

The book also expresses Warlamis’s special love for the island of Santorini. In all forms of his art (painting, architecture, literature) he deals with this Aegean Island that had captivated and inspired him.
